Parallax error is the result of the viewfinder being seperate form the lens that takes the picture. Because the position of these two lenses are seperated on the camera by a certain distance, it would make sense that the result on your media will look somewhat different from what you see in your viewfinder. This difference is called parallax error, and can result in things being cut out of your composition, or other things being included that you didn't want. There may be a slight skew on the rule of thirds you were trying to accomplish, and in general, what you see isn't exactly what you get.
