Different Lenses can give you different results. Wide angle flattens objects and overall puts a lot more of the scene into the frame. Normal lenses are supposed to put what our eye-site's perspective is into the frame. Tele-photo or long lenses can be thought of as a zoom, and puts less of the scene into the frame. Aperature and depth of focus are affected by what focal length lens you use. Each length has it's use dependant on the situation.
