About Math Matteson I am MJ Matteson, and am a high school math teacher at Youngker High School. I have a degree from Northern Arizona University in education with an emphasis in mathematics, electrical engineering, electronic media, and photography. I am certified K-12, and have passed the AEPA in secondary mathematics. I have been teaching mathematics since August of 2005. I taught five years at Estrella Mountain Elementary teaching eighth grade math all five years. I also taught a few sections of seventh grade math, reading, and math enrichment. I then taught two years at Liberty Elementary again teaching eighth gade math both years. I also taught seventh and eighth grade social studies one year. I now teach at Youngker High School and teach Honors Algebra I, Geometry, AP Statistics, and Algebra II. I am married and have three children. I am a volleyball and basketball coach (coaching at Landmark Middle School, Estrella Mountain Elementary, Liberty Elementary, and now at Youngker High School). I have been tutoring since 1999. I started tutoring at Landmark Middle School, and have done tutoring at Coconino High School, and of course all the schools that I have taught at. I have been tutoring as a free-lance since 2002 and have tutored everything from elementary math, middle school math, high school math, test prep (ACT, SAT, AIMS, AEPA, etc.), college level math, and engineering. |
