My name is Jennifer Gonzales, former head girls' volleyball coach at Estrella Foothills High School. I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Matteson. I have had the pleasure of working with Coach MJ since 2019 in the girls' high school volleyball program and have also worked with him for 2 years with the boys' high school volleyball program.

Coach MJ is one of the most reliable coaches I have ever worked with. He not only exceeded expectations from his role as the assistant coach but also took on many other tasks. Many times, he initiated these extra duties without being asked. His attention to detail and ability to multitask is superb. He is always thinking ahead and being proactive.

Coach MJ's love and knowledge of volleyball is obvious by the accomplishments in the programs he has been a part of. He has had a significant impact on the girls' volleyball program. He has spent countless hours working with these young athletes during the summer, building their confidence and improving their game. He started the boys' program and has continued to excel with these athletes on the court also. He does an amazing job promoting both programs and building a fan base and creating that high school spirit.
